what do we want to change?
WE HOPE TO CHANGE lighting as an “afterthought” BY Creating imaginative lighting schemes through careful composition and control, without using excess light. We understand that light does more than enable vision and that there is so much to notice and appreciatE!

ALEX DEAHL (PRINCIPAL, IALD, MIES)
WITH An innate CURIOSITY AND PRAGMATIC INSTINCTS, ALEX FOUNDED FIELDWORK AFTER YEARS OF WORKING at lighting design practices in san francisco. She HAS LEAD AND CONTRIBUTED TO SEVERAL AWARD-WINNING CULTURAL, RESIDENTIAL, EDUCATION AND CORPORATE projects of VARYING sizes AND at multiple scales. PRIOR TO HER WORK IN ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING, SHE DEVELOPED PERFORMANCE-BASED content & THEATRICAL LIGHTING DESIGNS, BOTH IN THE US AND INTERNATIONALLY.
in 2022, Alex was named to the international "40 under 40" list of lighting practitioners by FILIX Lighting & Light Collective.
IN HER SPARE TIME, YOU CAN FIND HER FLIPPING THROUGH RECORDS and SWIMMING IN COLD WATER in the pacific northwest.
