HISTORIC POWERHOUSE | SAN FRANCISCO, CA

this building ORIGINALLY SERVED as an electrical substation along San Francisco’s waterfront. the design team was tasked with adapting the historic industrial structure - THROUGH NEW LIGHTING AND OTHER ARCHITECTURAL INTERVENTIONS - TO REJUVENATE the interior for 21ST CENTURY occupants. DIRECT AND INDIRECT LIGHT IN THE OPEN SPACE AND DISCREET WASH LIGHTING AT THE WALLS SUPPLEMENTED THE NATURAL DAYLIGHTING PROVIDED BY THE 18-FOOT-HIGH WINDOWS.
